The Caspervek Trio is a Spanish instrumental ensemble at the forefront of merging music with the visual arts. Specialising in silent cinema, Caspervek composes original scores for a broad spectrum of films, from expressionist masterpieces to the Hollywood classics of the early nineteenth century. On Friday, 21 February, they will use their talents to accompany Buster Keaton in his spectacular 1926 silent film, The General, as he fights his way through enemy lines during the American Civil War to win the love of his life, played by Marion Mack. Buster Keaton was famous for doing all his own stunts, and he does not disappoint us in this action-packed film.
Our Mission Caspervek’s mission is to explore the dynamic relationship between music and image, crafting a live experience that echoes the origins of artistic performance, where empathy and immediacy are central to each show. The ensemble brings a unique atmosphere to every performance, inviting audiences to rediscover cinema through the profound language of live music.
Achievements Caspervek has emerged as a leading reference for silent film concerts in Europe. With over 300 performances in twelve countries and original music for more than 30 feature films, Caspervek today is a modular ensemble featuring some of Northern Spain’s most talented musicians.
