The play begins in front of Halliseys Hardware on Henry St. as 2 best friends, Aoife and Margaret,  meet and pass along a little gossip. Having grown up together, been married for 20+ years, have grandchildren, are married to 2 best friends, Fintan and Paddy, they express frustration at the lack of attention and affection from their husbands who work all day as stone masons, come home for a quick bite, and off to the pub.
