‘Rath' is a documentary film by artist Mieke Vanmechelen.
A wealth of information is in danger of being lost, as knowledge which has been passed down orally through the generations has never been recorded. This film tells the story of Bonane man Brendan O’Sullivan and chronicles his journey through nearby fields and places where he spent time as a child. While focusing on the historical facts, it also tells his personal story. The film highlights our interconnectedness with place and the value of our ancestry.
An exhibition of artworks, in response to the film, by pupils of Tulloha National School Bonane will accompany the screening in April and will be on view for the month.
